Cookies
What this site keeps in your browser.
Last updated 17 September 2026.
This page lists the storage we have observed on FormatOnce.com: what sets it, how long it lasts and how to remove it.
Cookies and local storage are not the same thing
A cookie is a small value your browser sends back to the server with every matching request. A server can read it. A local storage entry stays in the browser and is only readable by scripts running on the same site; it is never attached to requests automatically. Both are “storage on your device” in the legal sense, but they behave differently, so we list them separately.
What is stored, and why
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
formatonce-theme | Local storage (functional) | Remembers whether you chose the dark or light appearance. Value is dark or light. Set by this site, never transmitted. | Until you change it or clear site data |
session-id | Cookie (analytics) | Random session identifier used by Lovable Analytics to group page views into one visit. Set by the hosting platform, not by this site’s own code. | 30 minutes, refreshed on each recorded event |
Nothing about your files is ever stored in a cookie, in local storage, in session storage, in IndexedDB or in the page address.
The analytics cookie, in detail
We use Lovable Analytics to understand visits and which tools are used, and to maintain and improve FormatOnce. The analytics script is injected by the Lovable hosting platform rather than written into our own code, and it is loaded when a page opens. For each page view it records the page path and address, the referring page where sent, your browser user agent and language, a country value derived from your device’s time zone, and the random session identifier stored in the session-id cookie described above. It does not receive the content or names of the files you process.
This site does not present a consent banner or any other consent mechanism for this script. This page describes what happens; this description does not constitute consent or replace consent where required by applicable law. How the recorded data is handled, and your right to object, are set out in the Privacy Notice.
If you would rather not be counted, you can block or delete cookies for this site as described below, or block the script itself with your browser’s content-blocking settings or an extension. Blocking the cookie alone stops the session identifier being stored and sent back, but it does not necessarily stop the script loading or sending an event. The tools work exactly the same either way.
What is not used
We have not added advertising, remarketing, cross-site tracking, social media or A/B testing cookies, and the site embeds no third-party widgets, maps, videos or fonts that would set one. Fonts are served from this site. Beyond the two entries in the table, we have not observed any other cookie being set for this domain; the hosting platform may set further technical cookies of its own, and we list only what we have actually observed.
Controlling this yourself
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data per site, usually under Settings → Privacy, or via the padlock icon in the address bar. Clearing site data for formatonce.com removes both entries in the table. Blocking cookies for this site prevents the session-id cookie from being stored, though the analytics script may still load and send an event without it; blocking scripts for this site with your browser settings or an extension prevents the script from running. Blocking local storage means the site will forget your theme choice between visits, but every tool will keep working — none of them depend on stored data.
Clear the FormatOnce theme preference
No theme preference is currently stored on this device.
This removes only the formatonce-theme key. It does not clear other site data or cookies — use your browser settings for that.
